"i
HATE shower games. im not even a fan of showers, but i know its the
way the entire "women's" world does things... when i stumbled across
"artbellies" i was thrilled to have a very different way to include the
MTB's closest friends and family in an activity that they will have
forever! everyone participated. at first they were unsure of the
objective of this "painting game", but after it began to come together,
they got it and def thought it was a unique way to capture the
pregnancy and for all of us to participate in something that they will
have forever! when i get pregnant (trying) my husband and i will
definitely have one for our nursery! (maybe someone will do it for my
shower-hehe!!)" K.G - baby shower organizer
"Art Bellies has given families a new way to commemorate the joy of
their pregnancies. It was a fun project that I highly recommend." Toni Rakestraw - Organic Birth

"We
mixed our Art Bellies prints with placenta art to create a triptych.
The Japanese feel of the prints inspired us to stencil the following
characters on each individual print: TRUTH. LOVE. BEAUTY. The montage
hangs over our bed and our little boy is now 5 months old." Gary and Julie

"We
had a wonderful time at our 'baby day' last week and everyone loved the
art bellies project. We made two paintings- first: the black silhouette
on the blue paper, and second: a green silhouette on the white paper.
Then yesterday a dear friend who was unable to make it to the shower
added a blue line to the second painting, and the daddy-to-be added a
yellow line to the same painting- the finished products are very cool
and it was just a great project to do together." Laura G.

I tried Art Bellies at around 22 pregnant for the second time. I'd always wanted to have some sort of pregnancy art but couldn't imagine doing a belly case (where would we put it?) and I wanted something artistic and unique to go with the standard pregnancy photos.
I have to admit that I was nervous about using Art Bellies because I'm not a gifted painter and tend to be a bit sloppy with a paintbrush. My husband was nervous as well as he hasn't painted since grade school but we just dove in one night! The results were amazing and the process was so easy- our worrying was completely unnecessary. Everyone loves our Art Bellies creation and it means so much for me to have a reminder of this pregnancy that I feel proud of.
Thank you, Art Bellies!!
